Jacobine van Laar (Mmus performance and teaching) is a Lyric – Dramatic Soprano living in the Netherlands. Trained at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, she got selected for a post graduate course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

For the past years Jacobine has concentrated on recital, concert and oratorio work, with performances in the Netherlands and in the UK, including Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague, The Barbican Centre, St. John’s Smith Square and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London. Now, as her voice has matured, she is able to commit herself to opera work and has been adding more dramatic roles to her repertoire, such as Flora (La Traviata), Sieglinde, Elsa (Lohengrin), Amelia (Un Ballo), Tosca, Musetta, Vitellia, Rusalka, Lisa (Queen of Spades), Jenufa, Elizabeth (Gloriana), Lady Billows and Magda (The Consul). Her repertoire includes works in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Russian, English and Dutch.
